The sugar and spice mix makes this
an extra nice exfoliating facial scrub gentle enough for everyday use chocked full of anti-aging properties.
Kate, a frequent visitor to this site and natural skin care enthusiast, submitted this recipe because only does she love the way it smells but how it leaves her skin so
soft and smooth with a lovely, refreshing glow.
As a sensitive and reactive skin type, she found that granulated sugar was a bit too abrasive for her skin.
However, the smaller, finer grains of brown sugar provide just enough abrasion to deeply clean the pores without creating any skin irritation.
Kate does admit that she cheats just a little bit by adding a dab of
her favorite soy-based cleanser on occasion, so her sugar facial scrub has an extra cleansing component, and she eliminates a step in her skin care routine.
Kate started using this recipe when she was a student battling
frequent outbreaks of acne and hasn't stopped since.
The sugar and spice- and everything nice that's what this great rejuvenating scrub is made of -adds an important step to her daily anti-aging routine.
Sugar and Spice is Extra Nice
Lightly massage scrub into facial skin. Rinse with warm water. Use to wash your face once a day.
Tip: Make a big enough batch for the week and keep it in the shower in an airtight container. It can also be used as an all over body scrub!
*It is also nice to experiment with different aromatic spices and herbs. For instance, Kate loves to add fresh, finely ground rosemary instead of the spice on occasion. It gives the scrub a wonderfully rich fragrant freshness that can't be beat.
