Layering Skin Care Treatments for Great ResultsAs you know, there isn't just one anti-aging skin care treatment that targets the range of aging skin symptoms that reveal themselves over time. Fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, and sagging skin improve best when you use different active anti-aging ingredients that target your specific aging skin concerns. By layering your skin care treatments you can effectively address a wide range of aging skin issues. Simply select the products with an effective concentration of the active anti-aging ingredients that are proven to address the specific skin symptoms you want to improve. Apply each treatment, one at a time, by layering them on top of one another. Allow each treatment to absorb into the skin before applying the next. A layering strategy to treat the aging skin concerns of wrinkles, age spots and sagging skin would involve several different facial rejuvenation treatments. For example, a morning routine would start with washing the face with a gentle soy-based cleanser to prevent drying out the skin, (the Aveeno skin care line makes a good, gentle all-purpose soy cleanser). Then apply an antioxidant rich toner such as Co-Q-10 or Vitamin C to thoroughly cleanse, tone and provide the skin with an antioxidant anti-aging benefit. Give the skin an opportunity to absorb the vitamins and nutrients in the toner. For a daily chemical exfoliation treatment apply a glycolic acid gel after the toner. Wait a minute or two until it absorbs into the skin. If necessary, the next step is to use a spot treatment on any blemishes. Dab on a Vitamin K cream if you need to reduce dark circles under the eyes or another anti-aging eye treatment specifically formulated to treat puffiness or fine lines for the sensitive skin around the eye (like Kinerase). Pat in a daily Vitamin A, retinol (the Afirm product line offers retinol in several different strengths) rejuvenating moisturizer. To eliminate a separate application of sunscreen choose a vitamin A moisturizer that includes a sun screening component. For the evening routine use treatments with different active anti-aging ingredients then you do for your morning routine like a Spin Trap toner, (another wonderful source of antioxidants). For a skin firming treatment select a DMAE (Revita Labs) or hyaluronic acid (Is Clinical Youth Serum) rich night time moisturizer along with an eye treatment formulated to reduce puffiness (Eyeliss) and/or fine lines, (Kinerase). It does sound like a lot of work but it is really just adding a few different treatments with clinically proven active anti-aging ingredients that are formulated to address very specific aging skin symptoms. Because the results of any anti-aging ingredient are cumulative, be patient. Give your regimen a few months and you will start seeing results!
Skin Care Technique: Tap into Your Skin's Inner ResourcesThat's right! Tap away. . . Gently tapping the surface of the face with your fingers tips stimulates circulation, helps the skin to absorb anti-aging products more efficiently as well as encourages the fluid that can collect underneath the eye to disburse. Using simple, proven facial rejuvenation strategies and techniques will help you achieve better results with your overall anti-aging skin care regimen. Lightly tap the surface of your skin for a few minutes right after you have finished applying your products.
